Hey guys! I'm Andre Galvao, 15X Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt World Champion and Head Coach at Atos BJJ

Updates from Brazil ✨

Last Friday, I arrived in Brazil with some students from Atos HQ for the Brazilian Nationals:

The Championship has just started, and already we’ve had some huge wins.

First up were two of our Juvenile girls.

2024 Pan and European Champion Alexa Herse kept her winning streak going, bringing back Double Gold on Saturday 🥇🥇

Dania Silva – another Pan and European Champion – took home a Bronze medal 🥉 in the Juvenile 1 Middleweight Division and a Silver medal 🥈 in the Open Class.

On Sunday, it was Emily Leyva’s turn to shine.

Emily won Double Gold at Pan 2024 and is also the 2024 European Champion. She fought so many super tough opponents (many of them previous Champions) this weekend…

But she won almost all her fights by submission to take home Gold in the light featherweight division🥇 She then came third in the absolute 🥉 This is even more impressive considering her weight division!

Everyone loves to watch Emily compete. She puts so much heart into her matches, fights so hard, and gives a show every time. She's a warrior ⚔️

(Emily is now only one step away from a Grand Slam this year)

We’re so so proud of all these incredible girls.

Today, Jared Wade will be fighting in the Blue Belt Division.

Then, on Wednesday, my daughter Sarah Galvao competes alongside her training partner, Lilly Marchand, in the Purple Belt Division.

My Master Two Purple Belt Double Gold European and Pan Champion Andre Leshovsky competes on Thursday.

And finally, my Black Belt Rolando Samson will be competing this weekend.

The best way to keep up to date with these results (and to also see the highlight finishes 🤩) is to follow the Atos BJJ On Demand Instagram Page.

(You can also see the incredible performances from our athletes – many of them from our kids program – at the IBJJF Orange County Open at the weekend!)

All these results wouldn’t be possible without the training systems we’ve been implementing at Atos HQ over the past years.

We’ve been making these training systems available to subscribers of Atos BJJ On Demand through the Weekly Series we publish on the site.

You can get full access to these systems by signing up today from just $24.99/month:

Let’s go,
Andre

Since announcing the first Atos HQ In-House BJJ Tournament last week, we’ve had SO much interest… So I wanted to share the rules to make sure everyone had the information they needed before signing up 🙌🏽 For the most part, our In-House Tournament will adhere to the standards of the IBJJF, with a few exceptions. We’ve created some rules that are specific to our tournament. We think these rules will make the tournament more fun for competitors, so we’d encourage you to check them out...

Most Jiu-Jitsu students will agree… The fastest way to improve your BJJ is to prepare for a competition. It’s not just what you take from the competition itself (although you’re likely to learn a lot about yourself, your ability to handle pressure, and the effectiveness of your Jiu-Jitsu)... It also helps bring focus to your training sessions. After all, it’s SO important to set goals if you want to be successful – this relates to every aspect of your life! That’s why I decided to run an...

The last lesson I want to share this week is from my daughter, Sarah Galvao 💜 Sarah had an amazing performance in her weight division, submitting three out of her five opponents. She was chasing submissions the whole entire time (One of the fights that she won by points ended up with a submission locked – with a few seconds more, she would have submitted that opponent too 🔥) After winning her division, she went into the Open class and fought way heavier opponents. Sarah is only sixty kilos,...
