[Video] All Access: Sarah Galvao at the Brasileiro

Published 23 days ago • 1 min read

The energy at the Brasileiro has been next level. Almost all the Atos athletes won Gold medals in all their weight divisions.

Almost everyone we brought to Brazilian Nationals has made the podium. Here’s a quick overview of the results this week:

  • Dania Silva 🥉🥈
  • Emily Leyva 🥇🥉
  • Marlon Tajik 🥉🥇
  • Sarah Galvao 🥇🥇
  • Lillian Marchand 🥇🥇

Today, I want to focus on Sarah and Lillian’s performances.

Lillian submitted all the fights in her weight division 🔥

(By the way, Lillian fights in the Middle Heavyweight Division, even though she’s eight kilograms below the weight division.)

🤯

The reason is because she’s so strong. We knew she could beat all those girls – and she did it!

Then she made it to the finals of the Absolute Division and closed out with my daughter, Sarah .

Sarah had fights against two really big, tough girls. One girl weighed almost forty kilos more than Sarah… But it’s all about Sarah’s mindset, her training and her discipline.

I was going to write more about Sarah’s fights, but then FloGrappling released this incredible video with footage from her fights and my coaching:

After watching so many incredible fights so far, I would like to encourage everyone to believe in themselves and to know that you can conquer many many things 💪🏽

You have to have a shift in your mindset to understand that every single action you do, makes a huge difference at the end.

It takes daily work to become a champion. Your technique has to be good everywhere.

Through daily practice of Judo with me, Sarah became a fearless stand-up fighter. She's as confident taking her opponents down as she is pulling them into her guard.

If you're looking for the same kind of confidence in the stand up game, I'd encourage you to check out the Judo course we created together, "Mastering Judo for Jiu-Jitsu Dominance".

To celebrate her incredible performance at the Brasileiro, I've knocked 30% off the price with the code SARAH30 until midnight on Sunday.

The link below will bring you to the checkout with the code already applied:

Since announcing the first Atos HQ In-House BJJ Tournament last week, we’ve had SO much interest… So I wanted to share the rules to make sure everyone had the information they needed before signing up 🙌🏽 For the most part, our In-House Tournament will adhere to the standards of the IBJJF, with a few exceptions. We’ve created some rules that are specific to our tournament. We think these rules will make the tournament more fun for competitors, so we’d encourage you to check them out...

Most Jiu-Jitsu students will agree… The fastest way to improve your BJJ is to prepare for a competition. It’s not just what you take from the competition itself (although you’re likely to learn a lot about yourself, your ability to handle pressure, and the effectiveness of your Jiu-Jitsu)... It also helps bring focus to your training sessions. After all, it’s SO important to set goals if you want to be successful – this relates to every aspect of your life! That’s why I decided to run an...

The last lesson I want to share this week is from my daughter, Sarah Galvao 💜 Sarah had an amazing performance in her weight division, submitting three out of her five opponents. She was chasing submissions the whole entire time (One of the fights that she won by points ended up with a submission locked – with a few seconds more, she would have submitted that opponent too 🔥) After winning her division, she went into the Open class and fought way heavier opponents. Sarah is only sixty kilos,...
